The Patio Blog
When the pandemic stranded me at home in March, my small suburban plot on a cut-de-sac became a place of wonder. From the stone patio in my backyard, I have watched hawks and buzzards vie for control of the nearby cell tower, turtle hatchlings crossing my yard, and fireflies and honeybees make a comeback. This blog is about my reawakening to the land that is literally within my reach. It is also about life in the American suburbs at a time of environmental, economic, and existential crisis.
